Ioannis Skandalis has completed his undergraduate studies at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and his graduate and doctoral studies at the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as the Law School of the University of Oxford. In particular, he has been awarded with the following titles: - Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) in Law (2013) by the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford, - Postgraduate Research Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Law (2009) by the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford, - Postgraduate degree Magister Juris (MJur) (2008) by the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford, - Postgraduate degree (L.LM) Labour Law (1st class - ‘Excellent’- Av. Grade : 9.5/10) (2007) by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, -Undergraduate Degree in law (1st class - ‘Excellent’- Av. Grade: 8.64/10) (2006) by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He is currently an Assistant Professor of Labour Law at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He is the author of two monographs: «Working Time: Its delimitation to contemporary Labour Law» (P.N. Sakkoulas, Athens 2017) (in Greek), «Balancing Employer and Employee Interests: Legitimate Expectations and Proportionality under the Acquired Rights Directive» (P.N. Sakkoulas, Athens 2016). He has also written a number of articles and contributions to collective titles (both in Greek and English).
He is currently an Attorney-at-law before the Supreme Court of Greece (registered with the Athens Bar Association since 2008), as well as a non-practicing Solicitor of England and Wales and has provided advice in various complex and challenging labour law issues.
He is a member of the Greek Association of Labour and Social Security Law.
He is an excellent user of the English language and a very good user of the French language. He has participated in European Union research projects relating to Labour Law.
He has participated as a speaker in many national and international conferences. He has been a scientific collaborator of INE GSEE (Research Institute of the General Confederation of Greek Workers) during the years 2013-2015.
